Community Coordinator
The Aboriginal Sport Circle of the NWT (ASCNWT) is a non-profit organization that aims at promoting and enhancing community wellness through Sport and Recreation. The ASCNWT supports the Physical, Mental, Spiritual, and Cultural development of our Aboriginal People through sport and healthy living by providing youth, families, and communities with Leadership and programming.
Reporting to the Executive Director of ASCNWT the Community Coordinator will work closely with the ASCNWT Program Manager to support the organization programs.
The Community Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Program Manager in developing, delivering and reporting ASCNWT community based programs that encourage and support community participation in Sport, Culture and Recreation programs in NWT Communities.
The ideal Candidate should have experience in the Sport, Culture and Recreation field and program leadership. The candidate must be politically and culturally sensitive towards our Northern Communities. Equivalencies will be considered.
This position requires significant travel to all NWT Communities.
All Applicants will be considered, however, Preference will be given to applicants of Aboriginal descent.
